Friday, May 31, 2024 Lakewood Alliance Church is excited to host a fundraising dessert evening to support The Strawberry Girls Project, https://www.strawberrygirls.org/. This initiative is the work of two artists and International Workers in Spain to raise awareness of women caught in human trafficking via the strawberry industry in Spain. Their work—supported by the Spanish and American governments, and the European Union—has recently led to the creation of  a non-profit organization to support survivors, create awareness, and prevent future trafficking from the strawberry fields.

“From Poverty to Possibility” is an evening of prose and paintings featuring works from Kim Peters and Marci Renée.  We encourage friends, family, neighbours, and co-workers to come and support this social justice and anti-trafficking fundraising event. It is be an evening to bring awareness, education, and to provide hope for the vulnerable.

Tickets are $20 per person or $30 for a couple. Tickets include gourmet desserts, entertainment, and a video by the artists, Kim and Marci.

Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the program to begin at 7:00 PM.

Tickets must be purchased in advance. Seating is capped at 120 people.
