As we see and hear about the events unfolding these days in Ukraine, we are filled with a deep sense of compassion for those who are losing homes, livelihoods, and loved ones. While we are across the world, we feel a deep sense of connection to those who are suffering, and we want to do what we can to help.

Pray

To that end, we would encourage you to continue to pray for Ukraine. Pray for peace, for wisdom for world leaders, for steps in negotiations, for protection of the vulnerable, for provision for those who have been displaced, for comfort for the grieving and hurting. Pray that our God would have mercy and turn the tide.

Give

We also can participate financially in supporting some who have been displaced through our Alliance Global Emergency Response Fund. The first response with these funds will be through the national church body in Poland who has a department called Good Works Mission that will oversee the relief response. The national church campground, Ostróda Camp, is currently providing temporary housing for refugees and they are planning to set up shelters for the many more who are pouring into the country. Also, the local churches around Poland are preparing to distribute food and necessary hygiene supplies as a first response.

To donate to this relief effort, you can:

  • Send an e-transfer to giving@lakewoodalliance.com with the subject as Ukraine
  • Click 'Giving' at the top of this page, then 'Give' on the page that comes up, and on the giving form, choose Alliance Global Emergency Response Fund from the 'Give to' drop-down menu.

Thank you for your ongoing participation in support for all those impacted by the war in Ukraine!
